Spectre Out of Time - Spectre Miniatures

Spectre: Out of Time // Spectre Miniatures

Spectre: Out of Time can be played with any miniatures you like and uses the Spectre Operations V3 system which introduces cinematic skirmishes and stress-driven mechanics, matched against different eras of history. This means that you can play out clashes on Medieval battlefields as well as World War II skirmishes.

As part of the toolkit, you have...

  • Era-specific Orders and Reactions capture the communication challenges of each period, from shouted commands and banners to field radios and smoke signals.
  • Formations and Discipline rules recreate how cohesion, morale, and battlefield doctrine shaped combat outcomes.
  • Force Builders and Period Equipment provide everything needed to run historical skirmishes with minimal abstraction and maximum authenticity.

The periods covered in the rules are Spectre: Medieval (1066-1500, Spectre: Revolution, Empire, and Union (1775–1865) and Spectre: World War II (1939–1945).

Spectre Medieval - Spectre Miniatures

Spectre: Medieval // Spectre Miniatures

Spectre: Medieval focuses on melee-centric combat and the dynamic between levy and the disciplined veteran fighters that you'd have on both sides. You'll also find Historical formations like shieldwalls, wedges and skirmish lines, plus the influence of characters like Commanders, Standard Bearers and Priests.

Spectre: Revolution, Empire, and Union covers the Napoleonic Wars, American Civil War and more. You'll switch up to Drilled vs Militia elements plus Battlefield Orders. Unique rules will then focus on national traits that match your army, plus guerrilla rules covering the likes of Continental ambushers and Spanish partisans or maybe even Confederate Raiders.

Spectre Revolution Empire & Union - Spectre Miniatures

Last but not least, but perhaps the closest to the original Spectre rules is Spectre: World War II. Play as the major powers like Britain, Germany, the Soviets, the United States, France, Italy and Japan, as well as minor nations and resistance fighters.

You'll find profiles for regular troops, elite and irregular options and full vehicles rules covering a mixture of World War II armour from simple jeeps through to the hulking Shermans and Panzers. There is also a full Order and Command system tailored to World War II with mechanics for suppressing fire, digging in and more.

It will be fascinating to see how it has been tweaked to fit the different periods mentioned here.
