July 15, 2025 by brennon
Perry Miniatures are now taking pre-orders for their new Napoleonic Skirmish In A Box, which introduces a clash between the Spanish and the French!
Skirmish In A Box // Perry Miniatures
This set contains sixty-five miniatures which can be used to represent two skirmish forces for the Peninsular War (1807-14). On the one side, you have a mixture of Spanish Guerrillas and Regular Infantry, which will be clashing with French Line Infantry.
You'll get around thirty-eight Spanish and twenty-seven French and this has been designed as a kitbashing box, which means the sides can be mixed and matched to design whatever you like. You can also use this to represent the Confederation of the Rhine, French Gendarmerie and Spanish Volunteer units.

The breakdown includes...
- 1 x Spanish command frame
- 1 x Spanish infantry 1 frame
- 1 x Spanish Infantry 2 frame
- 5x Guerrilla frames
- 1 x Spanish head frame
- 1x French Infantry command frame
- 1 x French battalion frame
- 4x French Elite frames
...plus you will also get three leaflets which will be helpful for those who are looking to paint up their uniforms as accurately as possible. These are always helpful, especially for newcomers to the period.
Uniform Leaflet // Perry Miniatures
The miniatures from the box were designed by Alan Perry and you can also get the new Spanish Guerrilla sprues separately from Perry Miniatures if you aren't interested in the boxed set itself. It should also be noted that if you buy three boxes from Perry Miniatures, then you'll get three FREE Guerrilla frames.
This could be a neat way for you to dive in and start playing the Napoleonic period. The numbers of miniatures per side make this particular fitting for something like Chosen Men from Osprey Games.
Could you be tempted by this new Skirmish In A Box?

Are Napoleonics the hot new thing ?
We’ve had Silver Bayonet for a while now, but with the likes of Blood&Bayonets and rules that Wargames Atlantic are doing that’s several options for games that could benefit from this boxed set.
I like that they’ve included a bit of info on uniforms.
