New Deathwatch Kill Team Battle In A Necron Tomb World!
July 21, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team heads to a Tomb World with a new season of expansions for those seeking to dive into some new Sci-Fi skirmishes. Will you align yourself with the Deathwatch or the Necrons?
Kill Team: Tomb World // Warhammer 40,000
Leading the way, we have the elite Space Marines of the Deathwatch, the iconic and original Kill Team. These veterans join the Deathwatch from their Chapter and serve alongside other Battle Brothers to purge the Xenos from the galaxy.

When you build your Kill Team, you'll choose five from amongst eleven Space Marines. They all have their own special set of skills that can get the job done, be it long-range encounters or up-close and personal melee scuffles. You might only use five miniatures per game but there are enough bits in the kit to make pretty much all of the options and loads of shoulder pads.
The Tomb World is not defenceless and it is commanded by the Canoptek Circle.

The Canoptek Circle is led by the Geomancer, who is backed up by a pair of Tomb Crawlers. Making up the rest of the Kill Team are the Macrocyte Warriors, who are expendable drones who constantly surge from the shadows of the Tomb World to try and keep the Deathwatch at bay.

In addition to being a new set for a proper versus encounter, there are also options within the set for playing Joint Ops. You'll get enough miniatures to make ten Necron Warriors and three Scarab Swarms. That means that you can dive into versus gameplay and cooperative battles with your friends.
You'll also note that you have a brand new Killzone in the set, which equates to a bunch of modular walls, doors and pillars. This allows you to build a bunch of unique layouts for both games of Kill Team and maybe even Warhammer 40,000 should you desire.
You'll also find loads of background lore for the Tomb World of Somneft and Kill Team Vaskovian and Amhetra’s Cryptoretinue. I remember a cool battle report back in an old White Dwarf which included a Tomb World and is was pretty epic. This might get me looking at picking up some Deathwatch...
Are you going to be diving into this new set?
