Add Colour To Epic Battles Revolution Battlefields With Warlord

Warlord Games are adding some colour, narrative and a bit of firepower to your games of Epic Battles: Revolution! Set against the backdrop of the American Revolutionary War, you can get some great new miniatures.
Townsfolk // Epic Battles: Revolution!
We start with the Townsfolk set. This set represents the people who were dragged into the fighting throughout America. Civilians would often be part of the baggage train of armies, but they could also be caught up in the fighting when two forces clashed in towns and cities, seeking to establish footholds for their campaigns.
This set could be used to represent objectives on the tabletop but also for colour on your tabletop set-ups and in your army creation. One of the figures included within the set is Molly Pitcher (Mary Ludwig Hays), who actually fought in the Battle of Monmouth. She took her husband's place as part of an artillery crew, swabbing and loading a cannon when he had fallen to the enemy. A nice touch of history to maybe inspire scenario play.
If you'd like to keep up the narrative additions to your collection, you could always call on a charm in the form of the Hessian Bear Regimental Mascot.

If you're looking to inspire the troops, then you could potentially help with the tamed, dancing bear. He even comes with his own hat. I'm sure the bear would very much like to make mincemeat of all of these onlookers but as it stands, this could end up being a good way to get a laugh from your troops, bolstering the morale of the troops.
Whilst this might not be a great addition to an army, it could be awesome for a display piece that you have in mind. You could create a great scene with an army at rest, troops drilling and camping out before a battle, whilst the dancing bear does his thing.
Last but not least, we have some useful options for those lacking in artillery. You can also get a Heavy Cannon Battery, which will fill the battlefield with smoke.

Whilst the use of cannons wasn't massively widespread during the American War of Independence, they were useful. A clutch of cannons would be very useful in blasting apart defences during a siege or sending troops running when you hammered their emplacements. This set gives you a good set of cannons for doing those specific jobs, whilst the rest of your troops do the dirty work.
These miniatures are, for the most part, made from Warlord Resin but you will also find some metal components within the sets as well. They are all in the Epic Scale from Warlord Games (13.5mm) and could be great ways to supplement someone's existing army.
What do you make of these new sets?
