Grow Your Army With Victrix Miniatures’ New Medieval Sergeants
August 29, 2025 by brennon
Victrix Miniatures recently added a brand new plastic set to their collection for those looking to bulk out their Medieval warbands for use in Historical wargames like The Barons' War and beyond. What do you make of their new 28mm Medieval Foot Sergeants?
Medieval Foot Sergeants // Victrix Miniatures
Inside this set, you'll get enough components for you to build thirty-two Medieval Foot Sergeants that cover the period of the Late 12th Century all the way through to the Late 13th Century. As with all of the plastic kits from Victrix, the set comes with a myriad of different options for posing, weapon options and accessories with which to customise your force.
Medieval Foot Sergeants Sprue // Victrix Miniatures
The sprues feature a mixture of different weapon options for you to choose from, so you can build your Foot Sergeants to match what you need. You can arm them with a variety of polearms, two-handed axes, spears and plenty of hand weapons like swords, hand axes, maces and the intriguing batwing cleaver.
You also get options on the sprues to introduce Standard Bearers as well as Musicians who can use horns and trumpets or drums if you prefer. This means that you could build large, ranked-up units for some games or individually armed soldiers for skirmish wargames.

This set can also be freely mixed with those from the Medieval Foot Knights and Medieval Mounted Knights sets by Victrix, so you can vary your army or warband. With so many different nations fighting it out during the Medieval period and all of the mercenaries battling under the banner of whoever pays the most, being able to mix and match seems like a great idea.

As well as the new plastic miniatures, Victrix are also working on a couple of new transfer sheets to match. You'll be able to get a new Hospitallers sheet and another for your Templars. You could, of course, use the other sheets from different sets if you prefer.

As you can see, you can have a lot of fun with this plastic kit and it should be suitable for a whole mix of different games. I really appreciate the mixture of armour types included in the set so you get a good range of soldiers suited in their gambeson or aketon, plus those in their full mail hauberks. You also get a heck of a lot of different helmets/heads!
If you want more Medieval miniatures from Victrix, then you're in luck, as they are working on Medieval Crossbowmen and Archers. That should soon give you everything you need for building Medieval armies using Victrix's miniatures!

Nice to see more padder armor. Will make good Bretonnian men at arms too.
These look great
These are gorgeous! I think I’ve found my winter project (if I can get the last three winter projects finished that is).
Just what the doctor ordered. Well, not my doctor, my Bretonnian Army’s doctor. I say doctor, more of a monk really, who thinks smearing shit on a cut is the best way to treat it
Medieval wargaming sure is undergoing a…renaissance
