Spectre Miniatures are now stocking the range of 28mm scale Sci-Fi miniatures by Stephen May of Dead Earth Miniatures. If you're a fan of the Grimdark and want some figures from an ex-Game Citadel and Forge World sculptor, then you can snap them up now.

Dead Earth Scout Sergeant - Dead Earth Miniatures

Currently available as part of the Spectre Miniatures line-up, you can get your hands on the Scouts and the Crusaders. The Scouts can be led by the likes of the Sergeant above, who showcases the design aesthetic of the Dead Earth range particularly nicely.

The miniatures that we've seen so far are a nice Sci-Fantasy mix where you've got elements like the slashed silks alongside armour and weaponry, which fits a distinctly Oldhammer vibe. You could easily see these on the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000 or deep within the Underhive in games like Necromunda.

Dead Earth Crusade Scouts - Dead Earth Miniatures

This is probably because this fits very nicely into Stephen May's wheelhouse. He sculpted miniatures for Necromunda, The Horus Heresy and The Old World and that certainly shows in what we've seen added to the Spectre Miniatures website recently.

You can see the more classic Crusade Scouts above who are armed with a mixture of silenced weaponry and melee weapons for sticking enemies before they make a sound. Again, I am a big fan of the designs we're seeing here. Clean and fun to paint!

If you want to go loud, the Scouts can also deploy a heavy weapon that should end up clearing out some of your enemies.

I really like that they went with the shoulder-mounted version of the weapon rather than having it held in two hands. It ticks some of those classic, Oldhammer boxes bus also just looks cool which is always the real reason why we buy any miniatures.

More Crusaders

As well as the Scouts, painted up nicely as you can see above, you can also get your hands on more heavily armoured Crusaders.

Dead Earth Crusade Lord - Dead Earth Miniatures

Again, you've got a very distinct design aesthetic coming through for these miniatures that give off some nice retro Sci-Fi vibes. If you were a fan of the look of classic Thunder Warriors from the Grimdark future, then you might be tempted to snap these up and add them to your collection.

Dead Earth Crusaders - Dead Earth Miniatures

You can get your hands on the regular Crusaders and their Crusader Lord, as well as units like the Scout Snipers, which give you more specialists for you to include in your growing army. You have the makings of a good skirmish force at the moment.

All of the miniatures that you see here can be supplied as physical miniatures, or you can get them as 3D printable STL files if you prefer, so you can print them off at home. Stephen May has been working on the Dead Earth range for a little while now, both through the Patreon, Kickstarter projects and over on their website.

Now that Spectre is involved in actually producing and selling the miniatures, it should make it a smoother process for wargamers to get their hands on them! I hope that we get loads of the Necromunda-style characters popping up!

Will you be picking up some of the Dead Earth Miniatures?
