Tell The Tale Of The Terror With Brigade Games’ New Minis

If you're looking to tell a tale of supernatural terror and Franklin's lost expedition, then you can now do so with the addition of the Terror in the Arctic range of 28mm figures to the Brigade Games website recently!
Officers - Sir John Franklin and James Fitzjames // Brigade Games
Leading the way, we have two of the Officers and major characters from this fateful expedition. Here, you have Sir John Franklin and James Fitzjames representing Franklin, who was originally in charge, alongside the captain of the Erebus, James Fitzjames, who would eventually lead after Franklin perished.
This helps to set the stage for the 1845 expedition featuring the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, which headed in search of the Northwest Passage. This expedition eventually disappeared and even the party that set off later in 1848 for the Canadian mainland vanished, perishing in the attempt.
Sailors 1 - Terror in the Arctic // Brigade Games
As well as producing the characters from this fateful voyage, Brigade Games has also created miniatures representing the Sailors and Inuit who would have been part of the crews for the two ships. You have two Sailor sets for you to choose from, armed with their rifles, trying to keep animals and more at bay in these frozen conditions.

This does indeed bring up an interesting point for the use of these miniatures in gameplay. You could make this a Historical survival affair against creatures on the ice but you could also level it up and instead base it on the book by Dan Simmons, The Terror, which also got turned into an excellent TV show.
Inuit with Spears - Terror in the Arctic // Brigade Games
The book and TV show follow the voyage from Beechey Island toward King William Island in search of that aforementioned Northwest Passage. The ships were frozen and trapped within the ice and the crew, both the regular sailors and the Inuit, had to then survive against harsh weather conditions and an elusive menace stalking them in the frozen darkness.
Inuit with Bows - Terror in the Arctic // Brigade Games
This set of figures gives you plenty of great miniatures for playing out your Horror-themed skirmishes on the tabletop. You just need some polar bears to stalk around, eating unfortunate sailors and something horrifying and awful that can loom out of the darkness to finish everyone off! Finally, you need a game that would suit!
Maybe you could change the fortunes of the crew of the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror and get them out of this terrible situation?

The thing that came for them was Inuit myth horror Sedna; I studied Inuit mythology as part of an anthropology course. Sedna was all that couldn’t be explained, was evil, and ate people from under the ice. NASTY.
Ahh, I was so obsessed with that series that I used Heroforge to design my own Mr Hickey. I fear that I may be making an order for these.
I am developing a game in which these miniatures would be wonderful. It is for the period 1880-1890, and the goal is to reach farthest north using maps of Ellesmere Island and Northern Greenland. Featured are teams led by Franklin, Cook, Greely, Hall, Nansen, Steffanson, and Kane. In competition against one another, teams led by these figures would attempt to attain farthest north by 1884, and return back to base, using supplies, boats, and potential contact with Inuit. It is based on several decades of my own research on Arctic expeditions of this period.
