Themeborne’s Escape The Dark Castle 2nd Edition Coming Soon!

Themeborne has announced that they are going to be launching a new Gamefound campaign soon for a 2nd Edition of Escape the Dark Castle, their awesome old-school, Fantasy card-based adventure.
Escape the Dark Castle: 2nd Edition // Themeborne
Celebrating ten years of Escape the Dark Castle, the new 2nd Edition of the game will come with greater variety in encounters, better balance and updated game features, plus the inclusion of ranged combat and a new stamina system. They have removed some of the randomness of your adventures in favour of making it more roguelike, whilst still retaining that classic old-school feel.

In addition to the new 2nd Edition of Escape the Dark Castle, there is also a new standalone entry into the series, Escape the Dark Forest. This uses the 2nd Edition changes but takes you out of the Dark Castle and into the haunted forests that lie beyond its gates. This will then include new Darkness and Fear mechanics as a twist on the traditional format.

The game will be another one to four player experience, which is quick to set up and plays in just thirty minutes. Escape The Dark Castle, Sector and now Forest are great experiences for those who want to indulge in great artwork, impressive settings, simple mechanics and fun sessions.
