Happy Sunday CoGs, OTTers and Backstagers!
@shayott A bad movie addition that you could check out for 7TV that touches on the rollerblade/skating theme “Solarbabies”. The only redeeming thing of that film, if I rememeber, was the inclusion of music from Nine Inch Nails.
A note on the Frogfoot, look to early footage of attacks by Russia in Ukraine for real time flights of the aircraft.
@brennon Your garden gnome game idea is great and might even work as a tower defense like Plants vs. Zombies. Good luck with your mobile slaughter sarcophogi.
@dignity With the weather getting chillier will we expect to hear more exploits of airsoft or is that done for the season? With spooky season almost gone and winding up for the New Year, do you have anything set up for Terrainfest or plans for the Spring Clean Challenge?
Carving missiles from wood? That’s what they used to suggest in 1960s issues of Airfix Magazine. The old advice was to seal the wooden parts with a mixture of talcum powder and the cellulose dope used to seal the tissue paper coverings for flying model aircraft to give a surface you could sand down to give a smooth surface for paint.
That Noo Yoik accent went a bit Saville at the end
Happy Sunday……then goblins at the beginning are perfect for pathfinder…
The logistics side of war is quite interesting especially when you start to think about what is required to keep a force of 10K troops in the field. Just to contemplate water alone, if you say a soldier requires 1-2 litres a day, then just in drinking water you’re going to need to deliver 10-20k litres every day, then add water requirements for vehicles. The you’re probably looking at around 20-30K litres every day.
A modern ground war at the same scale as WW2 wouldn’t last as long these days. The reason being the amount of rare earth minerals required in modern military equipment and armaments. The largest producer of rare earth in relation to processing/manufacturing is China. No one else can process to scale like them. So if you were an enemy of the Chinese there’s no chance you’re going to get a regular supply at scale from anyone else. Plus most countries would have to build a manufacturing base from scratch. Look at how many countries have had to be involved in keeping Ukraine in the war with Russia. They’ve struggled including the US to keep up with demand. Likewise Russia has also struggled to replace damaged and destroyed equipment. Then there’s getting hands on fuel such as petrol and diseal to keep the military moving.
Happy Sunday!
No long format from me this week, I have a cat in my lap.
@shayott YOU MAD BOY!
And I forgot the rest I wanted to say.
HAPPY SUNDAY!
