Build A Glorious Orc Army Inspired By Oldhammer Fantasy!
November 4, 2025 by brennon
Mark Farr of Footsore Miniatures & Games has decided to make the Orc army he has always dreamed of a reality! Inspired by classic Warhammer Fantasy Battles 3rd Edition, this new force of Oldhammer Orcs is now available for you to pick up!
Orc General, King Fiyar // Footsore Miniatures & Games
Farr was inspired by the classic Orcs of 3rd Edition Warhammer Fantasy, which was as Farr has stated, "...just before the Orcs took up weight training". This more classic Fantasy look for the Orcs was great and packed full of character but Farr never had all of the miniatures he wanted for his army. So, this new MORCs collection (Mark Farr's Orcs) aims to redress the balance, allowing Farr to not only have the army he always wanted but also make it so you can indulge in that passion too!
Orc Shaman - Bagrash // Footsore Miniatures & Games
This first release from Farr and Footsore focuses on just an initial portion of this Orcish vision quest. Based on the scenario pack, Bloodbath at Orcs Drift (from Warhammer Fantasy Battles 2nd Edition), this collection of characters, troops, monsters and more comes from that campaign pack.
Orc Warrior Command Group // Footsore Miniatures & Games
The focus is on three tribes of Orcs that have come together under the banner of one king who seeks to destroy the lands of Men, Elves and Dwarves! A classic campaign which requires some classic, Oldhammer Orcs.
All of the miniatures have that old-school feel, reminiscent of the old artwork for Warhammer Fantasy Battles from back in the day! There are three different army deals from Footsore over on their website HERE but you can also pick up individual packs covering different heroes, troops, monsters and more.
Orc Warriors with Spears // Footsore Miniatures & Games
You can get elite Orcs, regular Orcs and more, all armed with a variety of weapons, including spears, hand weapons and shields, bows, great weapons and more. They feel like they fit into that neat time where the Orcs for Warhammer were a bit more Tolkienesque, making these perfect for other games beyond just replaying old editions of Games Workshop's game!
Armoured Orc Archers // Footsore Miniatures & Games
You'll have noted that there are some BIG figures in this collection. For example, the King rides into battle on the back of a fearsome wyvern. There is also the dour Gothrom the Giant, who looks like he might be handy when trying to smash through the defences of a stronghold or fort held by Men, Elves and Dwarves.

As I mentioned earlier, this is just the start of Farr's ambitions. Whilst this initial wave of releases provides you with a superb starting point for an Oldhammer-themed Orc army, there is plenty more space for more Orcs and perhaps even Goblins.
For now, Farr has achieved at least a portion of his dream and has been able to assemble a mighty horde of Orcs, ready to despoil the lands of the free.

They are OK, but still don’t touch Andrew May’s level of Orkiness.
