Today is the end of Q1 of 2026. Where did all that time go?!?
Don’t ask me. I’m still trying to figure out where the last 50 years went!
How is everyone else getting on?
Since I haven’t pledged (I didn’t didn’t I?) I’m golden! haha!

Today is the end of Q1 of 2026. Where did all that time go?!? I’m checking in with this month’s total which is 71 or equivalent completed. That takes the annual total to 275/365. Only 90 to go and I should be through those by early May if I can keep this rate up.
Recent completions included plenty of things for Warriors of Athena. Typic…[Read more]

Don’t knock it. The best Dr Who was Tom Baker and you dont need no BetaMax to watch that, its on iPlayer. If you have tried buying anything for your house you will see how brittle it is. I have bought items made for outudoors that they make out o plasic an it gets weathered and brittle in no time.
I have been looking at stuff from Wargames…[Read more]

They were really good. Hard foam is great for terrain as it’s so resilient.

@pagan8th good choice, good timing – the trick is finding your “new normal”, especially in the first year – that’s my experience. It sounds like you’re doing the right things. Adjustment was the hardest part. I think you’re further ahead than I was at the same time.

That’s a really nice sculpt; the face is well done in particular – having the beaver open was a good design choice.

I feel like a Varangian Dog-warrior should have the famous Varangian Axe, not a katana.

I retired because they were asking more of me and neither managers, nor customers seemed to appreciate me.
Since I retired, when I bump into my former colleagues, they always tell me I got out at the right time. At least a dozen people have left the company since I left… guess that makes me a ‘trend setter’ 🙂

the reason I got retired early was anxiety related. I was a rock before that day. It happens. It also gets better.

Marauders aren’t 40K Orks. They’re basically mercenaries and pirates, so they have well maintained equipment rather than random metal plates duct taped together in the vague shape of a vehicle.

Thanks for the kind words.
Don’t normally get anxious at the doctors, but as soon as a sat down I started shaking. At first I thought it was a fever because last time I was shaking like that I had covid because I was so cold, but that only lasted one day. Doctor said my temperature was normal and BP ok. My smart watch said my stress was at 99,…[Read more]

Friday will be … wait for it … GOOD.
@grantinvanman That’s a “Good” one 😀
End of the month and, shockingly, end of Q1 for 2026!!!! I’m updating the pledges spreadsheet. Things are generally going well on the figure painting front this year.
