Laketown isn’t an Elven settlement.

CLIF bars are a good example. I use them for hockey as a boost, and did use them for cycling when I used to do that a lot.

Breaking Ewws, as per TheirTube: It seems that Viggo Mortensen is the only one of the original PJ’sLotR cast with enough integrity to not participate in this money grab venture worthy of SlimeAzon.
Serkis makes sense, since he’s the ‘star’, director and presumably also script writer – Tolkien certainly isn’t – Ian McKellan is also ok, as a W…[Read more]

“There were always Black people in Laketown!”
Ahem…
The origin of the word Elf is the proto-Nordic Elb or Alb which means white. Tall, fair, slender and of unearthly beauty, that description has always made me think of Scandinavia more than anyplace else.

The closest real life items to at least the effects of Lembas as described by Tolkien would be these two:
The German farmer’s bread I grew up with – a fairly dark, robust, large round loaf with an almost black, crunchy outside and a gray-ish, almost sourdough-like interior. Taste slightly sour, probably a wheat/rye mix baked in a wood burning…[Read more]

Harlequin Rangers – part of the ongoing commission I did from last year, some add on units. These were a one piece 3D print, challenging to get around the trees and such.

@limburger I used to live walking distance to the largest physical independent games store in the world, and it was good I was into other more expensive hobbies at the time. Avoided a bullet!

@jamescutts you have an actual hobby shop within walking distance of your office ?
wouldn’t it be easier if they paid your salary to the shop and then pick whatever you want from them ? 😉
cut out the middle men as it were 😀

Pledge: Continue through current army projects
Have I bought new minis this year? Decidedly not. I’m going to hold off atleast until June. That should be enough time to get through my current armies, paint the commission army I will receive this weekend (SAGA is getting attention *hoots happily*) and then consider Giftmas. I…[Read more]

Beware the Dire Turducken from Reaper. I don’t know if it would go well with Lembas. I don’t think these are an endangered species since people seem to talk about frying them a lotAs far as the baking process I think that the simple science in Good Eats explains to me how difficult the combination of nutrition versus fluff. The best I can think…[Read more]

You’re right Elves are fair , but in todays Hollywood that’s flexible . Just like the variety of peoples in rural villages in the Witcher , you would think for the time period they would be a single ethnic / tribal group , you would find diversity in major / capital cities ( Enoys , Merchants , Diplomats and there households ) or port cities…[Read more]
