Be interesting to see what Shatterpoint minis go on sale now. Some online stores may decide to clear stock and there may be discounts at UK Games Expo this year.

@zoidpinhead I have one of those magnifier lamps too. Top angle bracket broke ages ago and it went limp. I did a crude repair and it still works.

However, I recently bought one of the head magnifier/lamps with multiple lenses which is working ok and I don’t need to sit at my desk to benefit from it.

@zoidpinhead I managed to get it and a couple of squad boxes for less than the price of the core box itself last year.
I think the stand that was selling them had some kind of insider knowledge of this upcoming fire sale.
Possibly a matter of simply seeing the planned release schedule and experience within the industry and/or Asmodee/AMG.

If they do this version it must have sting as Feyd complete in blue pleather underpants. 

Not sure how the “incentive to buy new minis” has worked out given that they are kind of sidelining it – they wouldn’t be doing that if it was flying off the shelves

I think the reason behind that is twofold:

1. Smaller groups, bigger minis = looks great on the table
2. Marvel Crisis Protocol already was bigger. And they are “siblings” in regards to the target audience I guess.

Also: had they done Shatterpoint via the means of “same scale as SW:L” there wouldn’t be much incentive to buy new minis for most people.

One of the things I like about Mantic – and to a degree, GW have started doing this as well – is that most miniatures are cross compatible between games.  Kings of War had Vanguard, it now has Champions but your miniatures were compatible.  Miniatures for Deadzone are compatible with Firefight.  I found it a bit strange that AMG went down a di…[Read more]

I’ve not bought into any AMG systems so I’m only an interested observer.  If there is a fire sale of Star Wars Crisis Protocol I doubt any of it will get cheap enough to tempt me, it seems sooooo expensive to someone who usually buys historical miniatures and is not a regular GW purchaser.
